I’m confused. I thought this convention was free?
It is free to attend the business meeting portion and breakout sessions only. The meal/speaker events, which break up the business meeting, are included in your convention package purchase, which primarily covers food expenses.
Can I purchase individual meals/speaker events instead of an entire package?
Yes, you can do so on the registration form. When you get to the package session, simply mark that you want to choose a-la-carte.
Do I have to be a delegate in order to attend convention?
No. You may attend the meal events and breakout sessions; you do not have to be a delegate to attend these functions. To participate in the LPF Business Meetings, you are required to be a delegate, however, if you are not, you may sit in as an “Observer” to view and listen to the deliberating. However, in the case it’s too crowded or there may be confusion during voting, the delegation may vote to clear the room of non-delegates
How do I become a delegate to the National convention in New Orleans next year?
The LPF will send a delegation to the LP National Convention a few months after our state party convention. At our convention, our delegates will select delegates to national. Please indicate on your registration form that you want to be considered for a delegate slot to New Orleans.
When does the early bird pricing end?
Early bird pricing for convention tickets is available through Wednesday, November 15, 2017. After that, the standard package will become available at $310, and the VIP package will remain available at $400.
What does my convention package include?
Your purchase of any of the “packages” (except for the view-only package) includes the breakfast, lunch, banquet on Saturday, and the brunch on Sunday. The view-only package includes entrance to those events to listen to the speaker, but no meal ticket is included.
What is the difference between the VIP package and the regular/early bird packages?
The VIP convention package also includes priority seating, thank you in the program, a t-shirt, and a special YETI tumbler.
Do I need to book my accommodations separately?
Yes, you need to book your accommodations directly with the hotel. See the venue page for more details.
What if I’ve already sent my payment for the convention via snail-mail?
If you’ve already sent in your payment, please register through the online form. When you get to the payment info, simply click that you’d like to pay by Check and then submit your information. We will verify payment has been received and no further action will be required of you.
